Bottle Cap Tray

Hi, everyone!

I'm always in search of interesting things to make out of not so common supplies.  This project is definitely in that category.  I don't believe I would have ever thought to makeover a tray using bottle caps - but it is quite lovely, isn't it?

Want to know how to do it?  Go here:

Absolutely love the color combination!  Happy crafting!  See ya soon.

Easy Homemade Lemonade

Hey!

It's over the hump day and I don't know about the rest of you, but the weather here has been Hot! Hot! Hot!  Temps in the upper 90's with heat indices in the triple digits - 110 and up.  There was a brief breather from the heat yesterday but even then it was hotter than usual.

When it's hot I really love lemonade to quench my thirst and this recipe from scratch sounds divine!  Check it out here:  Easy Homemade Lemonade

Have a great Wednesday!  See ya soon!

DIY PVC Cabana

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a fantastic weekend!

A while back I was searching how to make a porch swing and came across this cabana.  As I said a few posts ago - it seems as though PVC is the new thing!  I've read where it's like legos for grown ups - how funny!!!  I think this would be great to have but even better with some type of cover over the top for shade.  If you want to build one or know someone who might, go here to check it out:

Outdoor Lounge

Doesn't it look cozy?  I also like the patio stones and pea gravel.  Hmmmmm - might need to add this to my hubby's honey do list - LOL!

Have a great day!

Buzzy Bee Watering Can

Hi, everyone!

This week my friend Michele and I made this for her classroom.  Her theme is bees - can you tell?  We've been making all kinds of things - a name block, a picture block all about her, and a hive treasure box.  Next on the agenda is baby wood bees for her students.

This project wasn't really planned but I think it came out very good.  It is a watering can converted to a flower vase.  Cute!  The little bees just made the whole thing!

So Cute!

Hope you have a great Saturday!  See ya soon.

Recycled Plastic Liter Bottle Birdfeeder

Good Afternoon!

My hubby's 2 week vacation is over (bummer) and it went really fast!!!  We were lucky enough to get tickets to see Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2 at the IMAX in 3D last Friday - It was awesome!  Then we went to Adventure Landing and played miniature golf and laser tag, drove go karts, and played in the arcade.  Cristian really enjoyed himself and did not want to leave!

We're still working on our laundry/pantry room, but I've been snapping pics along the way.  I'll be posting it when it's all done.  That pretty much took up the entire vacation time but is going to be well worth the time and effort!  The plumbers and electrician have been here and now we just have a few things to do to get it completed.

A few days ago, I came across this project and it is very cute if you're a bird lover.  I'm always looking for ideas for feeders and this one seems very easy to make.  Check it out here:  Garden Craft: Recycled Bottle Birdfeeder

Here he is - drum roll please.....

Hurray!!   I'll let you know if I find any more table leg crafts!

2x4 Wood Bees

Good afternoon!

I have been enjoying my hubby being home this week.  He's been diligently working on our new laundry room!  It is coming along quite nicely I have to say. The floor should be done today and then we have to have the plumber and electrician come to help get the washer and dryer hook ups done.  It's going to be great to have this completed!!!  I've taken pictures as he's done each step so I'll post everything once it's done.

Today I want to show you a cute 2x4 craft.  I originally made these for Cristian's kindergarten class, since they are the Belmont Bees.  His teacher gave them to the kids at the end of the year as part of their graduation.  There are boy and girl bees - can you tell which is which?

They are very easy to make.  One 12 foot long 2x4 makes 24 bees.  Each bee is 6 inches high.  Once you get the 2x4 cut, be sure to sand the edges and corners until they are smooth.  Then paint it yellow.  I used self stick felt strips for the bottom (but you could probably use chenille stems as well).  I printed the faces and after laminating them glued them to the front.  The chenille stem antennae is inserted in a drilled hole in the top with a black pony bead to give it a more finished look.  The girls got a bow and the boys didn't!  The wings are simply round pieces of black tulle gathered in the center and held in place with a piece of a chenille stem. They are hot glued to the back.  All done!

Hope this has inspired you to make your own little hive of bees - LOL!

Have a super Sunday - see ya soon.

Hula Hoop Rug

Hey everyone!

I'm a little late with my post today but we had a late night last night and we didn't really get moving until mid afternoon!  We celebrated my hubby's birthday - had kabobs on the grill, oreo blizzard ice cream cake, shot some firecrackers, made s'mores and ended the evening with a movie.  Action packed night, huh?  It was fun, nonetheless!

I came across this project at the Family Fun website.  If your kids outgrow their t-shirts as fast as mine does - you'll have plenty to complete this craft!  It seems easy to do - interested?  If so - go here for all the stuff you need to know!  Hula Hoop Rug - Easy Crafts for Kids - FamilyFun

Paper Beads - My First Attempt

Hi everyone!

A few posts ago I shared with you a website about paper beads.  I've finally made a few of my own.  These beads are sooo easy to make!  I got the bead roller tool from Fire Mountain Gems and Beads.  I used wrapping paper cut into long strips - 1" wide x 30" long!  One 1" strip makes a total of 3 beads - 1 wide and 2 small.  The longer the strip the thicker the bead! After rolling them I brushed on a coat of glossy Mod Podge and let them dry overnight.  Then coated them with Acrylic Sealer to protect them from moisture.

Here's a few pics to see:

The great thing about these beads is that there are so many mediums that you can use and colors are limitless.  I'm just getting started making my beads, but I have a bracelet in mind for when I have enough beads done.  I'll be posting it - so stay tuned!

Have a fantastic day - see ya soon!

PVC Marshmallow Shooters

Hey everyone!

My hubby started on the biggest project on our to do list today.  I am so excited!  When we bought this house in 2006 there were things we knew that we would eventually change.  Isn't that always the case when you are a home owner?  Anyway, Cristian was little so we made a room into a playroom for him.  Now he's gotten old enough that it's not a necessity any longer.  Now I'm getting my greatly needed laundry room/pantry!  Yippee!!  Hurray!!

Our washing machine, dryer, extra refrigerator, and upright freezer are in our double car garage.  Not such a good place....  Super hot in the summer and pretty cold in the winter.  As if it's not bad enough doing laundry as it is, right?  Now it will all be inside and I can't wait!!!!!!  Stay tuned......

Anyway, do you have kiddos and are they telling you they're BORED?  Well this just might be the boredom buster you need!  A marshmallow shooter made from PVC!  I told you I keep seeing PVC projects for some reason.  This is one that is super easy to make and kinda cool for the kids!  Check it out here to make your very own:  marshmallow shooters

Thanks to make-it-do.com for the innovation!

Have a great over the hump day and I'll keep you posted on the room makeover!  See ya soon!

Make Your Own Hummingbird Feeder - CUTE

Good Afternoon!  Happy July 5th.

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July festivities.  We had an awesome time at the baseball game in spite of the rain!!  The game was delayed but it stopped raining just long enough for the fireworks to get shot off - and they were amazing!!  Then it rained again for just a little bit and finally the game resumed. At 12:53 am this morning it was a tie at 5 to 5.  They called it and will finish it this evening at 6:15 pm.  We were a little disappointed not to see who wins, but all in all we had a great time!!  Thanks heavens that my hubby is on vacation this week since we didn't get home until about 2:30 am!!!  Tired today? You bet. Worth it? Absolutely.  The kids even want to make this our tradition!

Anyway, on to today's post!  As you can probably tell, I really appreciate upcycled, recycled, or repurposed (whatever you want to call it) projects.  And this one fits the bill.  Isn't it cute?  I love hummingbirds and every year wait anxiously for their appearance.  They are feisty and bold and so much fun to watch!  So now I can have a new feeder to add to my growing collection!  Want one too?  Check it out here:

Cute, Cute, Cute!!!!
I've been working on a table leg Uncle Sam and unfortunately it didn't get done before the 4th. I'm hoping to finish him this week and that way he can be displayed the rest of this month!  When I have him done I'll show you the finished product!  He's been really easy to make - I just ran out of time!

Have a super Tuesday!  See ya soon.

Patio Paver Planter Box

Good Morning!

Well, it's July 1!  Where did June go?  It went by so fast, didn't it?  My hubby is on vacation for 2 weeks starting Sunday and I know he can't wait!  Then again, neither can Cristian and I!  We have some honey do things that need to get done but we want to do some fun family things, too!  We're starting off with baseball and fireworks on the 4th - can't wait!  We're thinking about some time at the lake - a few days of sun, boating, fishing, and relaxing!  Maybe even a day trip to the beach - who knows.  Nothing is written in stone right now and we plan to just play it by ear.

Today's post is something I'd really like to add to our outside list of things to do!  I think it is ingenius!  How many times have you bought a big pot only to have it be ruined after a few seasons being in the elements?  Too many times, right? This planter box solves that problem! Check it out here:
Under The Table and Dreaming: Patio Paver Planters

Love how easy this will be to make!  Don't you?  Then, let's get to it!

Have a wonderful Friday - see ya soon!
